Xbox Game Pass November 2026 opened with its first wave on Nov. 3, and the schedule runs through Nov. 17 across cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. By Gaming Route’s tally of the Xbox Wire announcement, the official post lists 13 entries, though several are bundles or titles already live. Xbox Wire published the Wave 1 post on Nov. 3 and updated it on Nov. 4.
The headline count hides the more useful story. Look at which plan each game lands on, and a pattern shows up. At least five Wave 1 games skip Game Pass Premium entirely and land on Ultimate and PC Game Pass only. Premium subscribers pay $14.99 a month and get a delayed catalog, while Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers get the new releases.
Our earlier look at Xbox Wire’s 32-game weekly schedule covered what lands this week. This piece goes a layer deeper. It maps every Wave 1 title to its plan and platform, explains why the count changes by outlet, and shows what the pattern says about where Microsoft is steering the service.

Xbox Game Pass November 2026 Wave 1 at a Glance
Wave 1 is a staggered release, not a single drop. Two games arrived on Nov. 3, two more on Nov. 4, three are due Nov. 5, three or four on Nov. 10, two on Nov. 11 (including Hope in the City for cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC), one on Nov. 12 and two on Nov. 17. Microsoft also folded in titles that are already available, such as Valorant, which is live on console and PC across every plan.
The two games that arrived Nov. 3 set the tone. Football Manager 27 launched on PC for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Pit of Goblin launched on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC for Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass. One is a day-one PC release gated to two plans, and the other reaches three plans across more platforms.
Today’s arrivals follow the same split. Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard from Vampire Survivors arrived on cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. It was already on Ultimate and PC Game Pass and became newly available to Premium. Void/Breaker hit its 1.0 release on cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC for Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass.
Everything dated Nov. 5 or later is scheduled, not available. That matters for anyone planning around the wave, because several outlets blur the line between what is playable now and what is coming. As of Nov. 4, only the Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 games, plus Valorant, are live.
Why the Game Count Changes by Outlet
Search for the wave and you will see 13, 15 or 20 games depending on the page. The gap is not a mistake so much as a counting choice. Xbox Wire’s post mixes new releases, bundles, benefits and titles that are already live, and each outlet decides which of those deserve a headline slot.
The Gaming Route tally puts the official post at 13 entries and notes that several are bundles, benefits or already-available titles. A report on iXBT Games carries a headline promising 20 games for subscribers, which may count console, PC and plan-specific variants separately. Insider Gaming’s URL slug references 15 new games, a third method.
For readers, the practical answer is to count by your own plan and device. A subscriber on Premium who plays on a console sees a much shorter list than the 20-game headline implies. A PC Game Pass subscriber sees nearly every entry, because PC is listed for every Wave 1 title that comes with a platform line.
This article tracks 17 distinct titles from the verified listings, including Valorant and The First Descendant: Legacy Bundle. Where an official page did not show a plan or platform list in full, the tables below say so instead of guessing. That choice costs a few blank cells and avoids passing off a guess as a fact.
Day-by-Day Release Calendar With Plans and Platforms
The table below lists every Wave 1 title we could confirm against at least two sources. Status reflects Nov. 4. Where Gaming Route is the only place that spells out the plans, the cell says so.

| Available now | Valorant | Console, PC | All four plans | Live |
Tanuki: Pon’s Summer also lands Nov. 10 and is listed for Ultimate and PC on one official line, but its platform list did not appear in the pages we could check, so it stays out of the table.
The Five Games That Skip Premium
Read down the plan column and five titles share the same label, Ultimate plus PC Game Pass with no Premium. They are Football Manager 27 on PC, Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, MySims Cozy Bundle, Football Manager 2027 Console and Warhammer Survivors. A sixth, Tanuki: Pon’s Summer, carries the same listing on one official line.
That is five of the 15 dated titles in the table, or one in three. The ones that do reach Premium include Pit of Goblin, Void/Breaker, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, Thronefall and John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando. Vampire Crawlers reached Premium on Nov. 4 after already sitting on Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
The official plan listings explain the logic. Ultimate and PC Game Pass both advertise day-one releases. Premium advertises 200+ games and selected new games within one year of release, which describes a delayed window instead of day-one access. Wave 1 shows that language at work in a single month.
The gap has a price tag. Premium costs $14.99 a month in the U.S. store, Ultimate costs $22.99, and PC Game Pass costs $13.99. A console player who wants Escape Academy 2 or Warhammer Survivors at launch pays $8 more per month for Ultimate. The plan ladder is a day-one ladder, and Wave 1 makes that plain. Our guide to Game Pass tiers compared walks through the full ladder.
Which Games Reach Every Plan
Three entries sit on all four plans: Valorant, Microsoft Sudoku and The First Descendant: Legacy Bundle. Valorant is live now on console and PC. Microsoft Sudoku arrives Nov. 10 on PC. The Legacy Bundle follows Nov. 17 on console and PC.
These titles likely do a different job from the day-one releases. They fill out the lower plans so Essential subscribers see something new in the wave. A free-to-play shooter, a puzzle game and a bundle for an existing title cost little to host, and they give the Essential plan, with its 50+ game library, a reason to exist next to Premium. That reading is our analysis, not a Microsoft statement.
Essential also gets a library refresh on Nov. 15. Microsoft says more titles join that library on that date, though the pages we could read do not list all of them. A Portuguese-language Xbox Wire version reportedly names Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, Gears of War: Judgment, Halo: Spartan Assault, Perfect Dark and Viva Piñata among them. Treat that list as a single-source report until Microsoft confirms it in English.
The lesson for readers is that the all-plan titles are the exception. Out of 17 tracked titles, three reach every plan. Day-one access, the thing most subscribers care about, sits on the two plans that include it.
The Four Plans and Their U.S. Prices
As of Nov. 4, Game Pass has four consumer plans: Essential at $9.99 a month, Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The Xbox store lists a $1.00 introductory offer for 14 days on Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass, with the monthly price kicking in afterward. The Xbox store listing for Ultimate shows the $22.99 price.
| Plan | U.S. price per month | Library size listed | Cloud hours per month | Rewards points | Day-one releases |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Game Pass Ultimate | $22.99 | 500+ games | 15 | 4x | Yes |
| Game Pass Premium | $14.99 | 200+ games | 10 | 2x | Selected new games within one year |
| PC Game Pass | $13.99 | 300+ PC games | Not listed | 2x | Yes |
| Game Pass Essential | $9.99 | 50+ games | 5 | Listed, rate not shown | Not listed |
Ultimate also bundles Fortnite Crew, EA Play and Ubisoft+ Classics, according to the official listing, and Xbox’s own page says Ultimate subscribers can earn up to $100 a year in the Store with Rewards. PC Game Pass includes EA Play as well. Prices, taxes and trial offers differ by country, so check your own store before comparing.
The $22.99 and $13.99 prices reflect a cut that took effect April 21, 2026, according to 4GQTV. That is a single-outlet account, so treat the exact date with some care. What the store pages confirm is today’s price, and today’s price puts PC Game Pass $1 below Premium while delivering day-one releases that Premium lacks. Our PC Game Pass vs Ultimate comparison goes deeper on that overlap.
Cloud Hours Decide Who Can Play What
Most Wave 1 titles list cloud as a platform, and cloud now comes with a meter. Microsoft announced on Sept. 3 that Game Pass cloud access would move to monthly hour allowances beginning in November, replacing the previously reported unlimited-cloud model. The official plan listings show 15 hours for Ultimate, 10 for Premium and 5 for Essential, and PC Game Pass is reported not to include cloud gaming.
Twelve of the 16 titles with a platform line list cloud. A Premium subscriber who streams every one of them runs into a 10-hour monthly ceiling, and an Essential subscriber hits 5 hours. A player with a handheld or a thin laptop can burn those hours in a weekend. We covered the mechanics in our Xbox cloud hour caps breakdown.
The Insider test for non-subscribers
Xbox began testing cloud playtime for Xbox Insiders without an active Game Pass subscription on Oct. 21, with a broader rollout expected in November, according to an Xbox Wire post. That is a single-source detail, so expect adjustments. If it expands, it turns cloud into a try-before-you-subscribe funnel. Readers who want to try it today can follow our guide to Xbox Cloud Gaming without Game Pass.
The ceiling creates an odd incentive. A subscriber on a lower plan benefits most from installing games locally, since local play has no hour limit. A subscriber with no capable hardware has to choose between a higher plan and a tighter cloud budget. Wave 1’s heavy cloud coverage looks generous until the meter enters the picture.
Handheld and Console Coverage in Wave 1
Handheld support is the newest platform tag, and Wave 1 uses it sparingly. By our count of the listings, five titles carry a handheld tag: Vampire Crawlers, Escape Academy 2, Warhammer Survivors, Thronefall and Aphelion. The remaining titles list some mix of cloud, Xbox Series X|S or console, and PC.
| Platform | Wave 1 titles listing it | Share of 16 titles with a platform line |
|---|---|---|
| PC | 16 | 100% |
| Xbox Series X|S or console | 14 | 88% |
| Cloud | 12 | 75% |
| Handheld | 5 | 31% |
The shares are our arithmetic from the platform lines in the calendar table, not a Microsoft figure. They show that PC is the one platform that never misses, and handheld is the one that usually does. The sources do not say why a given game gets the handheld tag, so we leave that question open.
The Xbox Series X|S family remains the current console line. The console originally launched Nov. 10, 2020, so Wave 1 lands in the week of its sixth anniversary, with several of the Nov. 10 additions arriving on the exact date. No newer Xbox console appears in any of the November listings, which reflect an official lineup that spans Xbox Series X|S, PC, cloud and handheld devices. Xbox Wire opened preorders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20 on Aug. 25, which gives the handheld tag a physical device to point at.
Games Leaving and the Nov. 15 Essential Refresh
The wave also carries departures. GoldenEye 007, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Wreckfest are reported as leaving on Nov. 15, according to several outlets including NME’s November additions report. Football Manager 26 is reported as leaving on Nov. 10, which means it should not be counted as a current Wave 1 addition even though its successor is in the lineup.
The overlap on Nov. 10 looks deliberate. Football Manager 27 arrived on PC on Nov. 3, Football Manager 2027 Console arrives Nov. 10, and last year’s edition exits the same day. The timing means fans of the series always have a current edition to play.
Each month brings a list of exits that roughly matches the additions, and subscribers can use that rhythm. Finish anything on a leaving list before the date, and treat any store discount on a departing game as its real exit price. Games reported for Nov. 15 are future departures, so all of them remain playable today.
Reset Context: Why Xbox Is Gating Day-One Games
The plan pattern reads differently against the backdrop of a business under review. Microsoft said on Oct. 28 that it was making decisions across Xbox’s content portfolio, platform and operations to reset the business for long-term growth. Xbox’s own leadership page lists Asha Sharma as CEO of Xbox, and third-party reports credit her with the Game Pass price changes.
Leadership has shifted fast. Xbox announced on Oct. 8 that Kayleen Walters would move from Mojang to lead XP, a new division focused on experiences beyond games, and that Maria Angelidou-Smith would become CEO of Mojang and Minecraft. On July 6 Microsoft announced that Helen Chiang had been promoted to chief operating officer, and press reports later said she left the post after three months. Those departure reports are not Microsoft statements.
The distribution side is moving too. Xbox announced on Oct. 26 that eligible T-Mobile customers could choose Game Pass Ultimate or Premium starting in November, with play across consoles, smart TVs, PCs and other devices. Our report on T-Mobile’s Game Pass offer covers the plan pricing.
Put those pieces together and the Premium gap looks intentional. A cheaper plan needs a reason for subscribers to trade up, and day-one access is the strongest one Microsoft owns. Reports in late October also claimed Microsoft is weighing a la carte add-ons such as online multiplayer. Microsoft has not confirmed that, and no price change was confirmed in the seven days to Nov. 4.
How Game Pass Compares With PlayStation Plus, Switch Online and Cloud Rivals
The closest console rival is PlayStation Plus, and the two services have historically handled new releases differently. Game Pass Ultimate lists day-one releases, while PlayStation Plus has leaned on catalog additions after launch. Our price breakdown of Game Pass vs PS Plus vs Switch Online puts the plan costs side by side.
Nintendo Switch Online sits in a separate lane, built around classic libraries and online play, on a platform where Nintendo Switch 2 is now the newest system on sale and the original Nintendo Switch is its predecessor. Prime Gaming offers a rotating free set with no plan ladder at all. Readers weighing all three need to decide whether they value new releases or a bargain back catalog.
On cloud, the main rival is GeForce NOW, which streams games you already own instead of renting a library. Game Pass cloud now sits behind monthly hour limits, while GeForce NOW sells its own plans. Our GeForce NOW vs Xbox Cloud Gaming test measures the streaming quality difference.
Wave 1 favors Game Pass on one measure, the spread of platforms, since PC, console, cloud and handheld all appear in a single wave. It trails on another, because the day-one benefit is concentrated in two plans. The right pick depends on how much you value launch-day access.
Six Months of Game Pass Changes in One Timeline
Wave 1 is the latest step in a run of changes that began in spring. The list below pulls the dated moves into order, using only items the sources confirm or that carry a clear hedge.
- April 21, 2026: A price cut to $22.99 for Ultimate and $13.99 for PC Game Pass, reported by 4GQTV.
- July 6, 2026: Microsoft announces Helen Chiang as chief operating officer.
- August 25, 2026: Xbox Wire opens preorders for the ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld.
- September 3, 2026: Microsoft announces tiered monthly cloud limits starting in November.
- October 8, 2026: New leadership appointments and the XP division are announced.
- October 21, 2026: Xbox starts testing cloud playtime for Insiders without a subscription.
- October 26, 2026: Game Pass comes to eligible T-Mobile customers.
- November 3, 2026: Wave 1 is published, then updated Nov. 4.
Our recap of October’s Wave 2 with Final Fantasy VII Remake covers the preceding wave. Reading the two together, the shape looks consistent: a mix of day-one games gated to the top plans, plus filler for the lower ones.
The through line is a service moving from a single library toward a ladder of plans, caps and carrier bundles. Each step makes the middle of the ladder carry a little less than it once seemed to. Wave 1 is simply the first month where the gap is easy to count.
Five Predictions for Game Pass Through the Rest of November
These are analysis, not reporting. None come from Microsoft, and each could prove wrong.
- Wave 2 repeats the pattern. A second November wave, if Microsoft follows its recent rhythm, will again put its biggest day-one titles on Ultimate and PC Game Pass first.
- Plan labels get louder. Expect Xbox Wire to print the plan next to every game, because subscribers now compare the lists closely.
- Handheld becomes a headline tag. Five of 16 titles with a platform line already carry it, and the share should rise as more studios certify for handhelds.
- Cloud caps push upgrades. Heavy streamers on Premium and Essential will hit their hours and either buy more time or move up a plan.
- Carrier bundles spread. The T-Mobile deal is a template, and other carriers have a clear incentive to copy it.
The riskiest call is the second one. Microsoft has marketed Game Pass as a single catalog for years, and printing plan gaps on every game would concede that the catalog is no longer single. Yet the evidence from Wave 1 suggests subscribers will see the gaps either way. Hiding them would only cost goodwill.
What Subscribers Should Do Before Nov. 17
Start with your plan and your device, not the headline count. If you play on a console and rely on Premium, mark Pit of Goblin, Void/Breaker, Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, Thronefall and Toxic Commando as your Wave 1 list. Skip the rest unless you plan to trade up.
If you play on PC, PC Game Pass at $13.99 covers every Wave 1 title that lists PC and plans, and it undercuts Premium by $1. That makes it the cheapest route to the day-one games in this wave. Console owners who only want one or two of the Ultimate-gated games can subscribe for a month, finish them, and drop back down.
Watch the dates on departures too. Football Manager 26 leaves Nov. 10, and GoldenEye 007, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Wreckfest leave Nov. 15, according to the reports above. Finish those first, and install local copies of anything you plan to play heavily so the cloud meter does not interfere.
FAQ: Xbox Game Pass November 2026
