A new clip from VisionQuest that has been released ahead of Episode 7 has left many fans confused. The Marvel series premiered on Disney+ on October 13 and has since received positive reviews. Besides Paul Bettany, the show’s cast includes James Spader returning as Ultron, Ruaridh Mollica, Emily Hampshire, and Kauren Morais.
New VisionQuest clip shows Vision speaking to himself
Actor Paul Bettany recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, where a new clip from his ongoing series VisionQuest was played and sparked online discussion.
After the eight-minute mark, Kimmel announced a short break, and a clip is shown featuring Bettany’s character, Vision, talking to another Vision. The clip begins with Bettany as White Vision in his human avatar within his mindspace walking down the stairs. The camera then moves to show what appears to be the now-deceased original Vision standing at the door. White Vision seems shocked to see the other Vision in his mindspace.
The camera zooms in on the original Vision, who says, “After all the battles waged, the monsters fought, the only force powerful enough to imprison me is myself. That’s poetic.” In his reply, the White Vision declares, “This isn’t a prison,” and the clip ends.
Bettany did not offer an explanation as to why the two Visions appear together in the preview, leaving fans to form their own theories. Episode 6, released on October 27, ended with James Spader’s Ultron sharing a kiss with Jocasta, played by T’Nia Miller, teasing an alliance.
In the interview, Bettany also discussed Robert Downey Jr. becoming the MCU’s longest-running performer as he returns as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. He suggested that the Oppenheimer actor did it to beat him and added, “I kind of had him for a while, but he’s come back for Doomsday, and I feel like he’s only done it to outlast me.”
