TomTom (ENXTAM:TOM2) Q3 Results Leave Stock Waiting For Revenue Recovery

TomTom just reported Q3 2026 and the reaction in the stock tells you almost as much as the numbers. The share price closed at €3.8 on 16 October after a flat week and a weak 3‑month stretch, yet the latest report shows €129.0m in quarterly revenue with a 90% gross margin and positive earnings per share of €0.04. That clash between tired price action and improving profitability sets up a clear sentiment test. Are traders still trading yesterday’s worries while the business quietly tightens margins and protects a €239m net cash cushion?

Love TomTom’s 90% gross margin and net cash cushion, but uneasy about the flat share price and recent weak stretch. Compare this setup with other financially solid businesses in our list of solid balance sheet and fundamentals stocks (203 results)

TomTom’s Bull Story Meets Profit And Reorg Milestones

The bullish pitch rests on TomTom turning mapping tech into better software economics. A key pillar is the push to fix HD map costs through automation.

“New AI driven approaches to map production that lower cost, improve freshness and broaden coverage beyond motorways address the historic economics issue of HD maps.”

Q3 points in that direction. Gross margin sits at 90% while operating expenses edged lower and operating margin reached 5%, helped by disciplined cost control. The fresh reorganization, with roughly €21m targeted annual savings, supports the view that management is focused on lowering production and support costs for Location Technology at larger scale.

TomTom Bear Case: Revenue Gaps Still Wide Open

The cautious view says TomTom may struggle to backfill winding down automotive programs fast enough.

“Although carmakers are increasing their use of higher accuracy, lane level maps to support advanced driver assistance and autonomous features, the gradual discontinuation of existing automotive programs and a wide 2026 revenue range suggest that new contracts may not fully offset near term gaps, which can restrain revenue growth and delay earnings momentum.”

Q3 does not refute that worry. Automotive operational revenue fell sharply, group revenue declined 6% year on year and Enterprise also slipped. Management still guides to a wide €505m to €530m range, with phase outs weighing on both auto and enterprise. The raised operating margin outlook relies on cost cuts, not broad based top line traction.

Hunt Quiet Mispricings In Plain Sight

TomTom just showed how a cleaner quarter and muted share price can drift apart for a while. The real opportunity sits with stocks that could be mispriced before expectations reset.

  • Company 1 – 49% below our estimate – deepen small business relationships as digital lending tools and newer checking products scale alongside technology focused advisory services.

  • Company 2 – 42% below our estimate – expand a solar tracker and software platform while newer storage and inverter offerings reshape project economics across a growing installed base.

  • Company 3 – 26% below our estimate – sell injectable treatments for weight loss and diabetes as demand concentrates around a pair of fast growing flagship therapies.
