If there’s one thing I’ve learned from years of working in fashion, it’s that the simplest wardrobe staples are often the hardest to get right. Take the humble white T-shirt, for example. On paper, it seems straightforward enough: a little cotton, a couple of sleeves, and a neckline. Yet finding one with the perfect proportions, a flattering fit, and the right amount of structure can feel like an impossible task. If you’ve ever found yourself wondering why some people can make a plain white tee and jeans look like a runway-worthy ensemble, the answer just might come down to the T-shirt itself.
Enter Flore Flore‘s Car Tee, the $135 wardrobe basic that’s quietly amassed a cult following among fashion’s most discerning dressers. The Amsterdam-based label has become something of an insider favorite, with its understated cotton essentials fitting seamlessly into the minimalist wardrobes we associate with the likes of Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, and Laura Harrier. Jenner and Harrier, in particular, have been spotted wearing iterations of the Car Tee in cherry red and navy blue, offering convincing evidence that sometimes the most compelling outfit starts with a T-shirt in any color, not just white.
Of course, spending $135 on something that looks remarkably similar to a T-shirt you could pick up at the thrift store might sound a little ridiculous. But as any fashion person will tell you, the difference between a good basic and a really good basic is often in the details.

My Flore Flore Car Tee Review
At first glance, the Car Tee is about as uncomplicated as clothing gets. There are no logos, embellishments, or trend-driven details. It’s akin to The Row or one of the many elevated contemporary labels that are committed to a “stealth wealth” lifestyle while designing well-fitting pieces and curated aesthetics.
Unlike the boxy, oversize T-shirts that have dominated my wardrobe in recent years, the Car Tee has a close-fitting silhouette that gently follows the body’s natural shape. Its round neckline is finished with a substantial binding that gives the shirt a more structured, intentional appearance, and cap sleeves offer a slightly cropped, more flattering alternative to the overly baggy sleeves of most white T-shirts. Then there’s the length. While plenty of fitted tees fall firmly into cropped territory, the Car Tee offers a little more coverage.
The shirt isn’t too heavy yet isn’t too light—offering the perfect in-between that any undergarments won’t peek through. Although most white T-shirts are prone to being slightly transparent, Flore Flore’s thicker cotton fabric means a dark-colored bra won’t show. Although I don’t own the white version, I checked in with my friends who do, and they confirmed my suspicions.
Is the Flore Flore Car Tee worth it?
Let’s be clear: In this economy, there’s no denying that $135 is a splurge. If you’re perfectly happy with your existing collection of cotton tees, there’s certainly no need to replace them. But for anyone who has spent years searching for that elusive, perfectly proportioned T-shirt—the one that makes even your laziest outfit look intentional—the Car Tee makes a compelling case for investing.
