Munetsi has been a crucial cog in Wolves’ promotion bid this season with strong performances from midfield.
The former Orlando Pirates star has featured in all 12 Championship games, starting all but one, and has scored twice, guiding the club to fourth spot, just four points behind leaders Middlesbrough.
Promotion Push Gains Momentum
Operating from a deeper midfield position under Cesar Peixoto, Munetsi has revealed his ambition for the season is promotion, according to Pan-Africa Football.
“It’s also important to play for this big club; the ambitions are clear, we have to do what’s right by the club and make sure that we put them back in the Premier League. So this is the main objective, and we have to keep pushing as a team,” the 30-year-old revealed.
“I think everyone is focused on that, the goal has been the same, and with our manager he is very demanding. In the training sessions you can see the energy he even brings,” Munetsi continued.
Wolves United Behind Peixoto’s Vision
Munetsi noted that Peixoto has put the club in a strong position, and he has got the team playing for him.
“He wants to make sure that the club goes back to its rightful place, so I think this is very important for all the players and everyone really knows what we are playing for and what we are pushing to aim for, and so I think this is the main objective of each and every individual.”
The Zimbabwe international revealed that the club has found itself in a good position to challenge for promotion after last season’s difficulties, adding that they are playing for the fans.

“I think it’s important because of the difficulties we had last year. It was tough for everybody in the club but going and coming back, we came with a bit of freshness, and I think it’s even massive from the supporters and as long as they keep on pushing us, we will keep on doing our best,” he concluded.
