Sky Sport Italia’s pitchside reporter Pierluigi Bagnulo reveals that Manchester United’s press office didn’t let Bruno Fernandes speak Italian in a post-match interview after a 4-1 loss to Como, ‘fearing they wouldn’t understand his words.’
Como crushed Manchester United 4-1 in a Champions League match played at the Stadio Sinigaglia on Wednesday.
Cesc Fabregas’ team delivered a dominant performance, as the result suggests, once again highlighting Manchester United’s fragility and putting further pressure on their boss, Michael Carrick.

Sky Sport Italia journalist Pierluigi Bagnulo, who covered the match as a pitchside reporter in Como last night, reflected on the Red Devils’ struggles with a social media post.
“It was almost disturbing to see how disjointed a team that has ‘United’ in its name is,” he wrote.
“I witnessed the caption of the actual state of Manchester United in four episodes happening in the space of ten minutes.”

The list began with “Carrick ignoring his players at the final whistle, going straight to the fans to apologise.”
The journalist continued, adding that Bruno Fernandes was not allowed to answer Sky Sport Italia’s questions in Italian.
The Portuguese midfielder spent many years in Italy early in his career, playing for Novara, Sampdoria and Udinese and speaks perfect Italian.
“The press office prevented Bruno Fernandes from speaking in Italian for a post-match interview, fearing they wouldn’t understand his words,” Bagnulo said.

“Bruno said that Manchester United must stop thinking about the past; otherwise they’ll never get over this. Carrick (a gentleman for how he behaved after the match) contradicted him a minute later, saying he doesn’t agree at all.
“It’s a club that is sadly crumbling hour after hour.”
Milan legend Zvonimir Boban, a Sky Sport Italia pundit, criticized both Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United at full time, saying the Red Devils “will not have a present or future at a strong level as long as he [Bruno] is the best player.”
