Stats: Big Gabi hits 200 Premier League appearances | Arsenal FC Official Website

Gabriel Magalhaes marked his 200th Premier League appearance with a thumping header as we defeated Everton 2-0 at a rainy Emirates Stadium.

The Brazilian has a habit of marking milestones with goals, netting on his debut against Fulham in September 2020.

Big Gabi has been a rock at the back since arriving from Lille, forming a key part of our title success in 2025/26, but where does he rank amongst his peers?

We’ve examined his time as a Gunner below!

CLEAN SHEET KING

Gabriel became just the 11th Brazilian player to reach 200 Premier League appearances in the win over the Toffees. Big Gabi sits 127 appearances behind Willian, who played 327 games for Chelsea, Fulham and Arsenal.

Since making his debut, no player has kept more clean sheets than Gabriel, amassing 79 shutouts across 200 appearances. His partners in crime, William Saliba and Ezri Konsa, both have 56 each.

It can come as no surprise that our championship-winning season saw Gabi keep the most clean sheets of any of his seasons at the club, keeping 17 on the way to title glory. Gabi was also part of a defence that kept 16 in the 2023/24 season.

BODY ON THE LINE

Gabriel epitomises putting everything on the line for the cause.

Since making his first appearance at Craven Cottage, only two centre-backs have won more duels than our Brazilian. He has won 921 in his 200 appearances, only bettered by Dan Burn and James Tarkowski.

Gabi is also in the top five for aerial duels won by defenders since his debut, winning a whopping 465.

All of that has helped Gabriel win 131 of his first 200 top-flight appearances. With a 65.5% win rate, Gabi is among the greats at our club, with only Lauren holding a better win record among players with over 150 PL appearances.

On top of that, Gabriel has made 175 blocks, the third highest since arriving in the league behind Tarkowski (389) and Nathan Collins (181), 713 clearances and 425 headed clearances, comfortably higher than any other Arsenal player in that time.

GOAL THREAT

It’s not just his defending that makes Gabriel the player he is today – he’s also more than a handful at the opposite end of the pitch.

No defender has scored more goals than Big Gabi since 2020/21, with his 21st being notched against Everton at Emirates Stadium. It also means that Gabriel is just one behind Laurent Koscielny as our all-time top-scoring defender in Premier League history.

Gabriel’s goal against Everton made history as his first goal not from a set piece. Prior to that, all 20 had come from corners or free-kicks.

In total, 14 of his 21 goals came with his head, comfortably higher than any Gunner to score more than 15 Premier League goals and only just behind Tony Adams among Arsenal players with 10 or more efforts.
