Public voting is open until Nov. 9 while the awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Dec. 12.
Last year, Dubai International Airport was named the world’s leading airport.
However, it expects annual passenger traffic to reach around 70 million by the end of the year, down from its previous 100-million target, CEO Paul Griffiths said as quoted by Reuters.
Dubai Airport handled 31.5 million passengers in the first half of 2026, down from 46 million a year earlier.
Changi, home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and famous for its cutting-edge amenities, has been may times honored the world’s best airport by international media.
The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognize excellence in the travel and tourism industry and are often referred to as the “Oscars of the travel industry.” The annual awards are determined by votes from both travel industry professionals and the public.
