The line leans on denim, red and cream, along with OshKosh staples such as jumpsuits and overalls, silhouettes Hudson noted the brand has made since its early days.
He also had a personal muse in mind: his godson, whom he described as “a very snazzy dresser” since age 2.
“I really wanted to do something that he could pick apart and wear what he wanted to wear,” Hudson said.
He said the pieces are also meant for parents looking for clothes “that can fit in with the stuff that they already have.”
Daniel, who said she has shopped at Carter’s for her daughter, described the pairing as a surprise that works.
“It’s almost like an unexpected pair. But if you look at the collection, it feels so Sergio, but it also feels so OshKosh,” she said. “I think you have like almost like this, the convergence of the two brands just really creates something special.”
Hudson, a South Carolina native who now splits his time between Los Angeles and New York, said Atlanta was the natural place for the debut.
“Carter’s is based in Atlanta, so this is where we came to design the collection. This is where we had our meetings. This is where the flagship store is,” he said. “So we wanted to do it here.”
The Buckhead location is one of only 19 Carter’s stores, out of nearly 1,000 across North America, carrying the collection in store, according to organizers. The full line is also available online at carters.com.

Hudson said he hopes families see the clothes as more than a seasonal purchase.
