Northumbria Police confirmed that they received the call shortly before 1:55 pm on Wednesday. Officers later stopped a vehicle in the Darras Hall area and confiscated the bow and arrows. Following their initial enquiries, police believed the equipment was intended for recreational purposes and said there was no threat to public safety. However, investigations into the incident are continuing.

According to reports, Newcastle goalkeeper Mark Gillespie and former defender Paul Dummett happened to arrive at the scene while officers were dealing with the situation. The pair reportedly stopped to offer assistance. The Telegraph has also reported that Newcastle United are aware of the incident, although Dedic is not expected to face any internal disciplinary measures.

Dedic Expected to Feature Against Fulham Despite Police Investigation

The incident has not affected Dedic’s standing in the team, with the right-back expected to be available for Newcastle’s Premier League fixture against Fulham on Saturday. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international joined the Magpies from Benfica in a reported £30 million summer transfer and has quickly become a regular in the starting XI.

Dedic has featured in seven Premier League matches since arriving at St James’ Park, registering two assists in the process. With Newcastle travelling to Fulham this weekend, the defender could return to action as usual, despite the unusual circumstances surrounding the police investigation.
