At the rear, the RX adopts a full-width light bar with the brand’s C-shaped lighting signature. An active diffuser adjusts its blade opening according to vehicle speed, acceleration and steering angle; it opens to 32 degrees in welcome mode and closes automatically when reversing.

Interior and space

The cabin follows a “floating wing” theme and includes a digital instrument cluster, a 16.1-inch movable central display, an 8.88-inch front-passenger screen and a 26-inch augmented-reality head-up display. The RX also uses a dual-view rear-view mirror arrangement combining conventional and electronic mirrors.

A key cabin feature is the intelligent adaptive sports seat, which contains 98 sensors and 27 air bladders to adjust support in real time according to vehicle conditions and occupant posture. Other listed equipment includes a suede headliner, seat ventilation, heating and massage functions, a driver’s zero-gravity mode, an electric partition sunshade, an air-purification system and an onboard refrigerator. The boot has a stated standard capacity of 622 litres, plus 30 litres of concealed storage, and supports a Knock Knock opening function.

Safety and driver assistance

According to LUXEED, high-strength steel and aluminium alloy account for 90.5% of the body structure. The vehicle uses 38.38 metres of hot-formed steel, including ten 2,200-MPa and two 2,400-MPa sections. The company also reports a body torsional rigidity of 51,040 N·m/deg.

For driver assistance, the RX has a four-LiDAR array and 38 integrated perception sensors. LUXEED said its architecture incorporates redundant power supply, communications, perception, steering and braking systems designed to support L3 driving scenarios; this describes the vehicle architecture rather than an approved L3 driving system.

Powertrain and chassis

The rear-wheel-drive RX uses a 277-kW motor. The all-wheel-drive version has motors rated at 160 kW at the front and 277 kW at the rear.

The 81-kWh battery version is rated at 672 km or 702 km under the CLTC cycle, while 100-kWh versions are rated at 753 km, 822 km or 852 km, depending on configuration.

The chassis includes an all-aluminium front double-wishbone and rear five-link suspension, a virtual steering-axis design and six-piston fixed front brake calipers. Higher-specification variants add a dual-chamber air suspension with a 100-mm adjustment range and dual-valve continuously variable-damping shock absorbers. LUXEED states a maximum wading depth of 500 mm. A Boost mode is said to increase torque by 10%; according to LUXEED, the quickest 0-100 km/h acceleration time is 3.6 seconds and braking distance is 32.4 metres.
