The Labubu movie may still be some time away, but a new trailer for an unofficial adaptation, Lazuzu, is here. It follows a man tormented by a mysterious “Lazuzu” doll, coming just months after the official Labubu movie was announced.

What do we see in the Lazuzu trailer?
The Lazuzu trailer begins with a voiceover explaining the terrifying effects a Lazuzu doll can have on its owner. The footage then shows Sam, the protagonist, acquiring the Lazuzu doll, but not before being warned about it. Sam is then bothered by his neighbors, who suspect he’s hiding something.
The Lazuzu doll begins to take a mental toll on Sam and his friends, who start turning on each other. The trailer ends with the group facing off against a life-sized demon.
Lazuzu stars Jack Hyde, Raegan Girt, Amy Gibbons, and Danny Sains. It comes from the same company that made the Poohverse films. ITN is also behind films like the upcoming Ed Gein movie, Night of the Living Dead, and others.
The Labubu dolls have quickly become the internet’s biggest obsession, rising in popularity in 2025. The collectible toys were created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung and are part of a group of fantasy creatures known as “The Monsters.” Each Labubu doll features a different outfit and expression. The toys rose in popularity in part because they were sold in blind boxes. The dolls were also promoted by celebrities like Dua Lipa and Rihanna.
Lazuzu currently has no release date. Meanwhile, Paul King will direct the official Labubu movie, though it also has no release date.
