CORINTH, MISSISSIPPI (WBBJ) – Thousands of people gathered at Crossroads Arena in Corinth, Mississippi to see President Donald Trump speak at a midterm election rally for Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. President Trump encouraged voters to head to the polls as Hyde-Smith campaigns to keep her senate seat.
For some attendees, this was their first time seeing a president in person. Others say they came to be part of the experience and see the event for themselves.
People in the crowd shared what brought them to Corinth and their reactions to the President’s visit.
“Oh, I love it. Oh, I’m all Trump and republican and red crazy. I love it. I’m so excited,“ exclaimed Darlene Herring.
“Well, my main goal here is to support the canadites that are in their midterms. It’s been a hard battle so far, and we’ve got a little bit more to go. We’re in early voting, so make sure you all go out and vote,” shared Christy Johnson.
Following the rally, President Trump was scheduled to depart from Memphis International Airport and return to Washington, D.C.
