17-time WWE World Champion John Cena is returning to WWE Raw after retiring from in-ring competition last year. He is set to make his television comeback.
When John Cena returns to WWE Raw
The latest WWE Raw took place in Fresno, California. During the show, WWE announced Cena’s upcoming television return. He will appear on the November 2, 2026, episode of RAW at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
However, WWE has not revealed Cena’s role yet. This will mark his first live RAW appearance since retirement. Fans are now wondering what he has planned next. Since retiring, Cena has focused more on Hollywood projects.
However, he remains involved with WWE through special appearances. He also continues working with the company in non-wrestling roles. Cena appeared at WrestleMania 42 as the show’s host in April.
He announced the inaugural John Cena Classic tournament during WWE Backlash in May 2026. His upcoming Raw appearance could bring further tournament announcements, or there may be developments ahead of Crown Jewel.
The premium live event is scheduled to take place next Saturday, November 7, 2026, in Saudi Arabia. However, for fans expecting Cena to come out of retirement, the chances seem unlikely, as he has confirmed that he is done wrestling in the ring. He said no amount of money could convince him to return.
Cena also believes coming back just for his ego would betray fans who spent money to see his farewell tour. He also signed a five-year WWE ambassador agreement. Therefore, fans shouldn’t expect him to wrestle again.
In 2025, Cena embarked on his retirement tour worldwide. He competed in 18 matches during that final run. His last match took place at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena lost to Gunther by submission in December 2025. That match officially ended his legendary in-ring career.
