Donald Trump has posted a 1300-word rant and called out a popular late-night host. The President has called the host a “complete and total loser”.
On Truth Social, Donald Trump criticized comedian Bill Maher. They dined together at the White House on October 15, 2026. Musician Kid Rock and ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith also joined them.
Trump wrote that Maher “learned nothing” and felt that “it was a waste of time” with him. He also called Maher a “Complete and total loser” and described Real Time as a “Low Rated Show” on HBO. It was the second time they both had dinner together, as Trump also invited Maher to the White House last year.

What else did Donald Trump say about Bill Maher in his post?
Trump kept criticizing Maher in his post and mentioned that he’s “not very smart” and “not a nice guy, and that what he spouts isn’t what he believes.” The President was angry over Maher’s conduct in his first show after their second dinner.
Maher began his Real Time episode, on October 23, by discussing Trump’s low approval rating. He also mentioned the upcoming midterm elections. He then defended himself for attending the dinner for a second time. “I know, I’m the bad guy because I go and say face to face to the man the things you write in articles that he’ll never read,” he revealed during his monologue. “I like these dinners.”
“After the second dinner, Bill’s ‘show’ was far worse than the first,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He went crazy! He’s gutless, because he enjoyed every minute.” At the time of writing, a third dinner is highly unlikely. Trump made it evident before ending his post. “Bill: Don’t call anymore.”
