Add Android Authority on Google:
TL;DR
- Gemini Notebook is now available as a Connected App in the Gemini app.
- This integration allows you to manage and query notebooks from your conversation with Gemini.
- The Gemini Notebook Connected App is available to all Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.
If you want to make the Gemini app more useful, you could start using Connected Apps. These are apps that can be integrated with the chatbot, allowing you to access their services without leaving your Gemini conversation. Recently, Peloton, SeatGeek, Airtable, and others have become Connected Apps, but Google is far from done. Another useful app just joined the Connected App collection.
The helpful learning tool Gemini Notebook, formerly NotebookLM, is now a Connected App. That means you’ll now be able to manage and query notebooks within your chats with Gemini. All you have to do is type @Gemini Notebook into chat, and you can start creating new notebooks, adding sources, saving notes, and accessing information from an existing notebook.
Gemini can also automatically detect when to use the Gemini Notebook Connected App for relevant prompts. For example, you can ask Gemini to:
- Create, edit, or delete a notebook (“Create a Gemini Notebook about solar farm market trends”)
- Add, update, or delete sources in a notebook (“Add a copy of this chat to my notebook about Bio 101 course”)
- List notebooks and their sources (“Show me a list of all the sources in my notebook about US National Parks”)
- Answer questions using context from your notebook (“What do my Gemini Notebooks say about butterfly migration?”)
You won’t have to wait for a rollout, as the new Connected App is available right now. Whether you’re a Workspace customer, Workspace Individual subscriber, or a personal Google account user, you should have access to the Gemini Notebook Connected App.
