Entertainment 360, a talent management and production company, and Griffin Gaming Partners, a venture capital firm that focuses exclusively on the video game industry, announced in a recent press release that they’re launching a new company called HITpoint Entertainment. HITpoint Entertainment is dedicated solely to video game to screen adaptations. HITpoint will source, develop, and produce the adaptations. They’re not limiting themselves to AAA titans, either. HITpoint will seek out growing indie IPs as well.

“There has long been an infrastructure in Hollywood for discovering books and other underlying material early. HITpoint brings that same focus to gaming. Together with Griffin, we can identify compelling IP at an early stage, bring it into a development environment, and pair it with filmmakers who genuinely understand the material and what makes it special.” —360 Entertainment
360 Entertainment and Griffin Gaming Partners have the experience and the resources to faithfully adapt video game stories to both the big screen and our TV screens. Griffin Gaming Partners, headed by Nick Tuosto and Nerdist Co-Founder and former CEO Peter Levin, is made of money, managing 1.6 billion AUM across the video game industry. They also had a hand in bringing my dearly beloved Fallout to life on Prime Video. Along with that, they’ve spent years fostering relationships with developers and publishers, which is sure to be of critical importance to HITpoint’s mission.
“Video games represent one of the most exciting sources of stories and characters for film and television, but adapting them successfully requires a real understanding of the creativity and passion developers bring to their work. Griffin has spent many years building trusted relationships across the gaming community, from major publishers to the independent studios we support. We see this vehicle as a differentiating resource for our 100+ portfolio companies, our strategic partners as well as the gaming ecosystem writ large. I couldn’t be more excited to partner with the team at Entertainment 360 and give fans new ways to experience the stories they already love.” —Peter Levin, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Griffin Gaming Partners
Formed all the way back in 2002, Entertainment 360 is no slouch either. They’re best known for their work on Game of Thrones. They currently have clients writing and starring in The Legend of Zelda movie, and recently made a deal for an Atari adaptation with Universal Studios. While I usually shudder at the words ‘venture capital’, I have to admit that companies like Griffin Gaming Partners and 360 Entertainment’s size combining their powers for the sole purpose of adapting beloved games is extremely exciting. Especially with their plan for hunting down IP amongst indie games, elevating voices that wouldn’t be heard otherwise. I will now begin my prayer circle for a Disco Elysium streaming series…as soon as it’s out of legal limbo. There’s no real limit to what HITpoint Entertainment can accomplish, and we’re eager to see how they’ll shake things up in Hollywood.
