Bluesy Burke’s Charlotte returns to General Hospital
The recent episode of General Hospital featured Detective Joe Fitzpatrick, who interrogated Carly about the bracelet found on Jack Brennan’s body. For those unversed, Carly remains a prime suspect in this case. This happened after she and Valentin Cassadine were spotted with Jack’s corpse. Revealing the story behind the bracelet, she recalled the moments from three months earlier, when she was with Charlotte and Valentin in the kitchen.
In the flashback, Carly gifted the “C” bracelet to Charlotte while Valentin stood there watching. Charlotte thanked her mother for this wonderful gift and went to boarding school. After her departure, Carly told Valentin that this bracelet was given to her by Jack when they were dating. Thus, the “C” on the bracelet stood for her name, but as her daughter carries the same initials, she passed it on to her.
It was Lulu Spencer and Valentin Cassadine’s decision to send Charlotte to boarding school. It was made when Charlotte tried to put Drew in a risky situation to blackmail him. In reality, Burke temporarily departed the show to attend college.
In conversation with Soap Opera Digest, GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini reassured the audience that Burke hasn’t left the show permanently and continues to be part of the show’s family. He added that they have come to terms with a mutual arrangement, which will enable her to continue playing the role. He said that they have left the door open for her to come and play the character during holidays and school breaks.
