What happens in the Secret Service trailer?
The trailer introduces Arterton as Kate Henderson, a senior MI6 spy. Henderson is running a secret operation in Istanbul. During a conversation with her team member back at the MI6 base, she is warned, “Kate, you’re running an operation against the chief of Russian intelligence. If he rumbles, your agent.” She cuts him off and assures, “The potential intelligence outweighs the risk.”
Things take a turn when Henderson overhears her Russian targets discussing a Russian asset who has infiltrated British politics. In the trailer, she is further warned, “If a minister running for leadership has been bribed, we’d be catastrophically exposed. In two days’ time, we might have a Russian asset in Downing Street.” Soon, Henderson and the MI6 team have to find the infiltrator.
James Marsh and Farren Blackburn direct the British espionage show. Jemma Kennedy and Tom Bradby wrote it, based on Bradby’s bestselling 2019 novel of the same name. In addition to Arterton, the ensemble includes Rafe Spall, Alex Kingston, Galaxie Clear, Khalid Abdalla, Aoife Hinds, Amaka Okafor, Mark Stanley, and Roger Allam, among others.
Secret Service is scheduled to premiere on MGM in the US, Canada, Latin America, and Italy on November 22, 2026
