The First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 1.5 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 164,000. Shares of FTXR were off about 1.4% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were American Airlines Group, trading off about 1.5% with over 30.0 million shares changing hands so far this session, and Tesla, off about 1.2% on volume of over 15.4 million shares. International Seaways is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 1.2% on the day, while Herc Holdings is lagging other components of the First Trust Nasdaq Transportation ETF, trading lower by about 6.3%.
