The Tommy Maximoff actor went to a Marvel audition without knowing the role. The VisionQuest star Ruaridh Mollica recently discussed that earlier audition, which he only found out about afterward.
In an interview with Pedestrian Daily, Mollica was asked whether he had discovered which MCU role he previously auditioned for. The Scottish actor revealed that it was Billy Maximoff, played by Joe Locke in Agatha All Along.
“I actually just, I clocked it after,” Mollica shared. The actor explained he couldn’t remember the details initially but later found out from a dummy site. “It was actually Joe Locke’s part. It was for the other twin,” the 26-year-old added.
Paul Bettany, who was alongside him, said, “It was always meant to be.” Muriadh jokingly referred to Bettany as “Father, Papa,” a playful nod to their on-screen relationship.
VisionQuest brings a new chapter in the story of the Maximoff twins
Vision Quest is the final installment in Marvel TV’s miniseries trilogy, following WandaVision and Agatha All Along. It continues the Maximoffs’ story after the events of Agatha All Along, in which Billy places Tommy Maximoff’s soul into the body of a drowning teenager, Thomas Shephard.
In VisionQuest, Tommy is now an 18-year-old orphan in London who left the foster care system. He now survives by pickpocketing on the streets while searching for direction in his life. His journey eventually brings him into contact with White Vision, who is struggling to understand his identity and discover who he truly is. With a bounty on his head, Vision goes on the run with Tommy, who may be his reincarnated son. The pair’s meeting further expands the Maximoff family’s story.
Created by Terry Matalas, the series also stars James Spader, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, and other cast members. Roopesh Parekh serves as producer, while Kevin Feige, Paul Bettany, and others serve as executive producers.
VisionQuest is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026, with its first two episodes.
