VfB Stuttgart without Angelo Stiller for Bayer Leverkusen trip

VfB Stuttgart have confirmed that Angelo Stiller will miss their Bundesliga trip to Bayer Leverkusen after suffering an adductor injury in Wednesday’s DFB Pokal defeat to Paderborn.

The Swabians didn’t provide any further details about the length of his absence, but that he will be “unavailable for training and matches for the time being.” As such, Atakan Karazor, who replaced Stiller at the interval in Paderborn, will start in midfield alongside Grischa Prömel.

Stuttgart will also be without Leo Sauer, who suffered a muscular injury in training.

Mixed set of results for VfB Stuttgart

Although unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League following wins against Viking IF and Slovan Bratislava and a draw against Atletico Madrid, they’re struggling domestically.

Eliminated by fellow Bundesliga outfit Paderborn (1-0) in the Pokal second round, they’ve picked up only two wins in seven league games in 2026/27. On Saturday, they travel to Leverkusen before hosting high-flying Werder Bremen.
