Dare we say… this is one of Taylor Swift’s best looks ever? Attending the 2026 Academy Museum Gala, where she graced the stage for a live performance of her Toy Story 5 track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” the showgirl showed up wearing a baby-blue Dior gown that was just as sentimental as it was striking.
Designed by Jonathan Anderson with a strapless silhouette and exaggerated hips, the gown was crafted from gathered icy fabric, with a sparkling bow adorning the center. It seemingly sent a nod to her July 3 nuptials, in which she tied the knot with NFL player Travis Kelce wearing a custom haute couture gown by the Dior creative director—his first high-profile wedding ensemble for the house. While the newlyweds have yet to share any photographs from their big day, we think it’s safe to say that if Swift’s dress looked anything like the number she wore this evening, it was something spectacular.
The Academy Museum Gala, which hosted its sixth annual edition tonight, celebrates the work of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and its mission to preserve film history for generations to come. Bringing a star-studded guest list to Los Angeles (think Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, A$AP Rocky, Sabrina Carpenter, Dakota and Elle Fanning, and Hunter Schafer), it honored filmmaker and composer John Carpenter with the Luminary Award, two-time Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award, and Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron with the Icon Award.
When making the announcement that Swift would be performing, museum director and president Amy Homma called the pop star an “extraordinary talent whose work resonates around the world,” saying, “We are thrilled to welcome her to this year’s gala and look forward to her performance to close a wonderful evening of honoring three extraordinary filmmakers and supporting the Academy Museum’s mission to celebrate and preserve cinema.”
