CBS has seen a significant ratings boost as two of its leading dramas draw large audiences across television and streaming. Taylor Sheridan’s Marshals and Justin Hartley’s Tracker secured the top two spots among entertainment series. The success of the two series has helped the network achieve a notable increase in viewership during its fall premiere week.

CBS viewership was up by 14%, thanks to Marshals and Tracker

CBS recorded a 14% increase in premiere-week viewership for its fall 2026 lineup. The series Marshals and Tracker have also secured the top two positions among entertainment shows. According to Variety, Nielsen Live+7 multiplatform data showed that the network averaged 8.63 million viewers during the week of October 4, compared with its premiere-week performance in 2025, which began on October 12.

Marshals, the Yellowstone spinoff starring Luke Grimes, ranked first among entertainment programs, attracting 15.14 million viewers across linear television and streaming. The series follows Kayce Dutton, a former Navy SEAL and rancher who joins the U.S. Marshals in Montana. Created by Spencer Hudnut, the series premiered its second season on October 4, 2026.

Tracker, starring Justin Hartley, followed with 13.86 million viewers to claim second place. Hartley plays Colter Shaw, who travels across the country to find missing people and assist law enforcement agencies and private clients. The drama premiered its fourth season on October 4, the same day Marshals returned. The two shows also occupied the first and second positions among the week’s most-watched programs on streaming platforms alone.

However, the network’s success was not limited to these two series. Once sports were excluded, CBS programs filled seven places among the ten most-watched series across broadcast television and streaming. The other shows in that group were 60 Minutes, NCIS, Sheriff Country, NCIS: New York, and FBI.

Meanwhile, CBS also claimed eight of the ten leading positions in broadcast-only viewing, with Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage joining the list.
