Sunderland head into the weekend dead last in the standings, with just a single win to their name along with six losses and two draws after nine matches.
The Black Cats have been nothing short of woeful so far this season, scoring the fewest goals in the league and allowing the third-most.
That horrific form bodes well for Chelsea, who enter this match having won three of their last four league fixtures and sitting fourth on the table.
The Blues had a learning curve under new manager Xabi Alonso but have been purring in recent weeks, and they’ll head to the Stadium of Light as staunch favourites to claim all three points.

Sunderland vs. Chelsea prediction
It’s hard to understate just how much of a mismatch this is, even with Sunderland playing at home.
The Black Cats have shown absolutely nothing to suggest that they will reverse the trend and actually give Chelsea a match.
If recent history is any indication, this should be a walk in the park for the Blues.
Prediction: Sunderland 0-3 Chelsea
