DANDRIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The signs declaring an East Tennessee bridge named in honor of President Donald Trump are gone, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation says they were vandalized.
The bridge spans the French Broad River in Dandridge and was previously known as the I-40 Douglas Lake Bridge. Its naming was highlighted in East Tennessee, and the ceremony dedicating the bridge to the president was attended by several big names in Tennessee government, including:
- Lieutenant Governor Randy McNally
- U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn
- U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty
- U.S. Representative Tim Burchett
- State Senator Jessie Seal
