Torino made it back-to-back Serie A wins as Kian Fitz-Jim, Rafik Belghali and Nikola Vlašić struck to spoil Ivan Juric’s return to the Olimpico Grande Torino.
Ignazio Abate’s side arrived on 10 points after Monday’s 3-0 win at Parma, and made one change, with Fitz-Jim replacing Daniel Bragança in midfield. Ricardo Rodríguez, Emirhan Ilkhan, Niccolò Fortini and goalkeeper Franco Israel were all unavailable. Monza were on seven points after thrashing Cagliari 4-0, with Lorenzo Lucchesi back from suspension in place of goalscorer Eddy Kouadio. Matteo Pessina, Jan Ziółkowski and Mayé were injured.
Dany Mota headed wide from an early corner. Ardian Ismajli nodded just past the post from a set piece at the other end, while Rolando Mandragora fired over from distance.
Torino broke the deadlock six minutes before the break. Fitz-Jim collected Giovanni Simeone’s pass, drove into the area and fired into the roof of the net.

Torino 3-2 Monza – Varela not enough as Torino turn up the heat
Monza had appeals for a penalty waved away when Ricardo Mangas went down in the box in stoppage time. They were level within two minutes of the restart, when Gustavo Varela pounced on a defensive mistake and rolled a low finish into the bottom corner from the right side of the box.
Torino lost Mandragora to injury shortly after, but responded strongly. Noel Törnqvist made good saves to keep out Belghali, Simeone and Pietro Comuzzo, but could do nothing about Belghali’s effort on 61 minutes. The wing-back skipped past two defenders and curled a superb strike from outside the area into the bottom corner.
Lucas Perri saved from Jay Robinson and a Mangas header at the other end, while Che Adams forced another stop from Törnqvist with a long-range drive.
Vlašić settled it in the 72nd minute, firing a loose ball high into the net from the edge of the area. Substitute Michael Folorunsho went close with a late effort from distance, but Torino held on, despite a late own goal from Scottish defender Nathan Patterson.
