Quick Read

  • IBKR surged 31% while BULL fell 24% this year, bracketing Robinhood between its most established and newest rivals in 2026 performance.

  • Robinhood’s new 24-hour weekend trading could lift transaction revenue, but a flat customer response would leave its performance gap with Interactive Brokers in place.

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) is up 13% in 2026, so the drop in Robinhood stock has come while the broad market climbed. Financial stocks as a group have barely moved, with the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSEARCA:XLF) up 0.3% year to date. That context makes it hard to blame the slide in Robinhood shares on the market at large.

Meanwhile, Interactive Brokers Group (NASDAQ:IBKR) stock is up 31% in 2026, a gain that leaves Robinhood stock trailing a major brokerage rival by a wide distance. Notably, Webull (NASDAQ:BULL) stock is down 24% year to date, a larger drop than the one weighing on Robinhood shares. Taken together, those peer moves leave Robinhood stock trailing its most established rival while holding up better than its newest one.

Weekend Trading Push Raises the Stakes

Robinhood said on October 1 that it will allow 24-hour weekend trading of U.S. stocks, Reuters reported, extending access as the brokerage industry moves toward longer market hours. That change lets Robinhood’s retail customers react to news that lands while traditional exchanges sit closed. Because Robinhood earns from transaction-based revenue, interest and subscriptions, added hours of access can feed the first of those streams most directly.
