Chairs are a status symbol. Every command center from Star Trek’s Enterprise to the Great Hall in Game of Thrones’ Red Keep has been denoted by a chair of some kind. In the modern age, command centers have gone from jewel-embellished castles to a desk with screens, but the chair remains ever important.
Noblechairs understands this, and seeing as how some gamers/creators spend a whole third of their day fastened to their chair, the Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair withstands the brunt of death-march gaming sessions and keeps the user comfortable the entire length of the journey. With the Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair, you truly feel noble.
If you have a racer-style chair already, the Noblechairs HERO Black Edition setup will feel like riding a bike. Noblechairs sends a package emblazoned with their branding, and most of the parts have already been fully assembled. Noblechairs delivers the partially unassembled throne with a glossy-laminated set of well-done instructions in case you get lost along the way; a godsend for those who dislike video walkthroughs. If you don’t have tools, Noblechairs also provides those.

While I employed a friend to help in case the Noblechairs HERO needed help getting itself together, it turns out they came to watch instead. The Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair assembly is so streamlined; it took the same time as three tracks on Metallica’s “Black Album” (or ~20 minutes) to fully assemble. Admittedly, most gaming chair assembly feels the same (at least where the racer design is concerned), but with Noblechairs’ included instructions, the HERO will be ready for duty fast regardless of builder experience.
“…the Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair withstands the brunt of death-march gaming sessions and keeps the user comfortable the entire length of the journey.”
When assembled, Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair stands out from the pack. The entire frame is composed of steel, making the chair’s overall structure solid, and it feels grounded. The faux leather upholstery is smooth to the touch and appears premium with a zero-shine matte presentation that commands a presence worthy of nobility. While the chair presents well—and appears to vanish in low lighting—where it really shines (and what’s most important) is its overall feel, and it hits all the right notes.
First off, the Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair is a lot firmer than it seems. While its rigid memory foam and faux leather feel may not be for everyone, it’s an excellent choice for a chair meant for the long haul, and I’m in love. If other racer gaming chairs are an oven mitt in softness, the Noblechairs HERO is a baseball catcher’s mitt, and this comes down to the support it offers.

Previous gaming chairs that I’ve used have also faltered when it comes to the size of the user. I am roughly 5’11 and 160-165lbs. While Noblechairs HERO feels good for me for hours, I asked my Magic: The Gathering pod mate (who’s ~6’4 and near the 330lb weight limit) to give it a spin for our weekly Magic: The Gathering night, and it performed heroically.
Not only that, there’s an actual knob adjuster on the bottom of the chair to help support gamers of all sizes, and it releases tension on the chair lean for taller and heavier users. For added accessibility, the chair includes all the same bells and whistles as other chairs to keep the rider comfortable when in-game, and the armrests can curve outward to not infringe on the user leaving the chair.
As if the company can read minds, the back of the Noblechairs HERO also sits about half a foot higher than other gaming chairs. This is for taller users, and it doesn’t make someone who sits at 5’5 tall feel like the chair is too big. Noblechairs seemingly thought of everything when crafting the HERO Black Edition, down to how well the wheels perform on carpeting.

I’m happy to report Noblechairs HERO Black Edition doesn’t need four subjects to lift you over high-pile carpeting like true royalty; instead, the wheels can march through even a half-inch thick plush blue carpet without getting tangled. Noblechairs also included a headrest pillow and lumbar support pillow (which is growing to become a feature of gaming chairs rather than an inclusion), but they both feel a little flimsy, especially the lumbar support pillow. Luckily, Noblechairs also included a lumbar support knob so the pillow is entirely optional.
The Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair has become my favourite seat in the house. While it does make the user look like royalty with a sleek presentation, it also lets even the hardest-working person in the room embrace luxury with how it feels to sit in the Noblechairs HERO. Whether you’re organizing TCG cards, writing a chair review, hunkering down for that Dune: Awakening dungeon, or just chilling and listening to music, the Noblechairs HERO Black Edition Gaming Chair feels damn good to sit in, and will make you question standing as optional, as any good royal would.
