Nathan Fielder‘s latest documentary has given fans an unexpected reason to talk about the next X-Men movie. Christopher Abbott appears in You Can See Everything, making the documentary especially interesting to fans of his upcoming Marvel role.
The A24 film, directed by Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, follows former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes in the weeks before she begins her prison sentence. Abbott plays Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans, while Amanda Seyfried portrays Holmes in recreated scenes. The reenactments depict conversations that Fielder could not film himself.
Fans have reacted to Abbott’s appearance on X. User @tylemol wrote, “Christopher Abbott, it’s always lovely to see you.” @williamsc108 posted, “Was Christopher Abbott trained in the Fielder Method?” @lbrasherfons joked, “More like Christopher Abbott and Costello.”
@losing_dawg wrote, “Fascinating stuff, especially casting Christopher Abbott as Billy, who I would argue looks more like Nathan. Liz works hard to cultivate a kind of aside with Nathan where it feels like they’re the ‘true’ partnership teamed against Billy as the parent figure.” @thewhalesucks tweeted, “Do we think Christopher Abbott’s inclusion has anything to do with the Abbott and Costello scene?”
The film also recalls Fielder’s unusual approach to acting in his HBO series The Rehearsal. In a 2022 episode, he explored a technique in which actors secretly observe real people and imitate their behavior. The technique became known as the Fielder Method. However, there is no confirmation that Abbott used it for this documentary.

Who Else Is Starring in the New X-Men Movie With Christopher Abbott?
Christopher Abbott is set to play Professor X in Marvel Studios’ upcoming X-Men movie. The announced cast also includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Maya Boyd as Storm, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister. Jake Schreier, who directed Marvel’s Thunderbolts, will helm the film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2028.
The new film will bring the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a central superhero team. The mutants have appeared in earlier films from 20th Century Fox, including X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Marvel has already introduced mutant characters in recent MCU projects, while the upcoming film will assemble its own X-Men team. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has also teased that more casting announcements are still to come.
