During the seven-day National Day holiday, innovative tourism experiences, ranging from interactive parent-child activities and educational study tours to immersive live-action performances, have invigorated the cultural tourism and consumption market in Zhengzhou City, central China’s Henan Province.
At the Fantawild Holiday Resort in the city, a group of international performers have brought exotic performances to visitors who can interact with them at designated locations.
“Each location features unique performances with rich content and highly interactive elements, allowing us to experience the artistic charm of various countries without going abroad,” said a visitor.
The resort also introduced a harvest-themed zone, where families can bond over playful activities like parent-child corn-shucking contests.
At the Zhengzhou Haichang Ocean Park, special programs such as mesmerizing underwater mermaid shows and interactive diver encounters have created a memorable experience for young visitors eager to explore the marine world.
Focusing on animals like beluga whales and emperor penguins, the park has also introduced a series of short educational plays, integrating zoological knowledge into the tour.
“The children can learn things during their journey, turning the National Day holiday into an educational trip that both helps them relax and broadens their horizons,” said a tourist.
As night falls, a 150-meter section of the ancient city wall at the Zhengzhou Shang Dynasty (1600-1046 BC) City Ruins is transformed into a magnificent natural canvas. It serves as the backdrop for “The Royal Wedding of King Shang”, a large-scale, live-action performance.
Through state-of-the-art light projections, compelling acting, and meticulous historical recreations, the legendary stories of King Wu Ding and his wife Fu Hao are brought vividly to life.
“By turning the 3,000-year-old rammed earth ruins into a massive screen, complemented by dynamic lighting and live performances, the entire experience gives me a real sense of traveling back in time,” said a tourist.

Authorities have also increased bus shuttle services connecting major train stations, airports, and urban centers to ensure a smooth and efficient journey for returning travelers.
