Hong Kong International Airport has retained its title as Asia’s leading airport for a fourth consecutive year at the 2026 World Travel Awards thanks to its effort to upgrade services and facilities.
The sole international airport in Hong Kong surpassed 10 other rivals including Singapore Changi, South Korea’s Incheon International Airport and Vietnam’s Tan Son Nhat Airport to claim the title at the World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania gala ceremony held on Sunday.
Changi had held the title for several consecutive years before the Covid pandemic.

Hong Kong International Airport covers 1,900 hectares and has operated since 1998. It currently connects Hong Kong with 220 destinations through 120 airlines.
It has recently upgraded its services and infrastructure as part of efforts to improve passenger services.
In May, the airport opened its second passenger terminal as part of a US$14.5 billion expansion aimed at strengthening its position against global aviation hubs including Singapore Changi and Dubai International Airport.
According to aviation data provider OAG, Hong Kong ranked as the world’s eighth busiest international airport in 2025 with 38.7 million seats.
Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards recognize achievements in the travel and tourism industry and are often dubbed the “Oscars of the travel industry.” Winners are selected through votes from travel industry professionals and the public.
