The incidents, reported across several states between October 30 and November 1, affected locations ranging from busy streets to shopping centers and Halloween parties. The violence renewed concerns about public safety during large celebrations, when crowds gather in entertainment venues and public spaces.

In Dallas, Texas, the deadliest reported incidents occurred in Deep Ellum, a popular district known for its restaurants, music venues and nightlife. Four people were killed and 15 others injured in three separate shootings that unfolded within approximately 75 minutes during the early hours of November 1.

According to the Associated Press, Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux said investigators were working to establish whether the shootings were connected. Some arrests had been made, but authorities had not announced a confirmed motive. Police were also reviewing evidence and interviewing individuals as part of the investigation.

The violence extended beyond Dallas. In Birmingham, Alabama, one person was killed and eight others wounded in two shootings near Legion Field following the annual Magic City Classic football game. Nearly 70,000 spectators had attended the event between Alabama State University and Alabama A&M University.

In Newark, Delaware, six people were shot near the University of Delaware campus. Meanwhile, a shooting in Bloomington, Illinois, left a 19-year-old woman dead and seven others injured, according to reports.

Halloween-themed businesses were also affected. In Fairfield, California, a shooting inside a Spirit Halloween store at Solano Town Center killed a 31-year-old pregnant woman and injured six others. Police described the incident as a targeted attack and continued investigating the circumstances.

A separate shooting at another Spirit Halloween store in Madison Heights, Michigan, killed a 21-year-old man. Authorities took another man into custody in connection with that incident.

Arkansas also reported gun violence during the weekend. Six people were taken to hospitals following a shooting in Fayetteville, while another incident near Little Rock left one man dead and several others injured.

The overall death toll varied between reports as investigations and casualty figures developed. The Associated Press initially reported at least six deaths and dozens of injuries across several cities. A broader USA Today tally later counted at least 15 people killed in shootings across 11 states, illustrating the scale of incidents included in the wider weekend assessment.

Although the shootings occurred in different locations and under different circumstances, their timing raised concerns about the safety of crowded public spaces during major celebrations.

Authorities continued investigating the incidents, with suspects, motives and possible connections still under examination in several cases. The shootings also highlighted the challenges facing police departments tasked with protecting large crowds during holiday events.

For many communities, a weekend associated with costumes, parties and family activities ended instead with emergency responses, criminal investigations and families mourning victims.
