The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has generated US$1.011 billion in foreign exchange from its artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM) gold trade operations in October 2026.
GoldBod said the entire amount was sold to authorised commercial banks through its GoFX platform to support stability in the foreign exchange market.
In an announcement issued on Monday, November 2, 2026, the Board said the forex generation was in line with its mandate under Section 2(b) of Act 1140.
GoldBod also projected to generate US$1.2 billion in foreign exchange from its ASM gold trade operations in November.
However, it said US$800 million of the projected amount would be made available to commercial banks to support stability in the forex market.
The Board said all forex sales would be conducted through the GoldBod GoFX platform, in line with its approved Foreign Exchange Sales and Intermediation Framework.
According to GoldBod, the framework is intended to ensure transparency, fairness and compliance with the relevant regulations.
The Board further stated that it remained committed to generating foreign exchange for the country and supporting the accumulation of the Bank of Ghana’s foreign reserves.
It said the efforts were in line with the Ghana Accelerated National Reserve Accumulation Policy (GANRAP), which seeks to strengthen the country’s foreign reserve position.
The announcement was signed by the Finance and Trade Directorate of the Ghana Gold Board.
