Germany secures spot at 2027 U-21 EUROs

Antonio Di Salvo has done it once again, as the U-21 German national team has officially secured qualification for the 2027 U-21 EUROs next summer. Following a 2-0 win over Georgia in Bielefeld, Germany will travel to Albania and Serbia next summer to participate in the tournament.

The team finished top of their group with 9 wins from 10 matches and a staggering +27 goal difference. Among the top contributors are Tom Bischof, Paris Brunner, Dženan Pejčinović, Finn Jeltsch, and most notably, Nicolò Tresoldi, who finished as the top scorer in the group stage to claim the Golden Boot.

While the U-21s typically don’t receive the same recognition as the senior squad, it is always exciting to see breakout talent emerge, much like Nick Woltemade’s impressive run in the previous edition of the tournament. Tresoldi and Bischof are arguably already household names in world football, but they will have a chance to make a strong impression next summer.

Both players are already capable of playing senior football. However, Tresoldi remains patient as he decides whether to represent Italy or Germany internationally. Meanwhile, Bischof has featured with the senior team but has stated his plan to compete with the U-21s next summer.

It promises to be an exciting tournament, and Germany will likely enter among the favorites, hoping to be crowned champions after falling just short with an extra-time defeat against England in the previous final.
