The latest international break has left several Premier League clubs facing injury concerns ahead of the return of domestic football, with a number of players forced to withdraw from their national teams.
According to The Times, Arsenal have been among the clubs affected, with Kai Havertz, Ezri Konsa, Christos Tzolis and Max Dowman among those returning from international duty with fitness concerns.
Havertz and Tzolis sustained hamstring problems while representing Germany and Greece respectively, while Konsa withdrew from the England camp after suffering an injury. Dowman also picked up an ankle problem.
The Times also reported that Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott suffered a quadriceps injury, while Matty Cash of Aston Villa was listed with a thigh problem. Brentford midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard also returned from Denmark duty with an ankle injury.
At Chelsea, Cole Palmer has been dealing with a groin problem, while Anan Khalaili returned from Israel duty with a hamstring injury.
Everton also have a concern over Vitalii Mykolenko, who withdrew from Ukraine duty with a calf problem. Ipswich Town’s Elliott Stroud, meanwhile, left Sweden’s camp because of illness.
Liverpool have also been hit by injuries, with Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo among the players returning from international duty with fitness concerns. According to Fantasy Football Scout, Isak suffered a thigh problem while Gakpo picked up a hamstring injury during the international window.
