felix’s new mobile plan doubles its unlimited data speeds

felix mobile has introduced a new top-end unlimited data mobile plan with download speeds of 80Mbps. Priced at $50 per month, the “Unlimited Plus” plan is $10 more expensive than felix’s “standard” Unlimited plan, but has donwloads speeds twice as fast.

Here’s the plan:

felix is the only provider in Australia to offer a mobile plan with truly unlimited data. While the data is effectively all you can eat (with a fair use policy), the limits come from speeds. The 40Mbps speed cap on felix’s Unlimited plan is fast enough for most online activities, but the telco is recommending its Unlimited Plus plan for those who want faster downloads for large files.

80Mbps is slower than the kinds of speeds 5G networks are capable of, but just shy of the types of speeds you’d get on a 100Mbps plan.

felix also has cheaper mobile plans with limited data, but a faster speed cap. Its two entry-level have a 150Mbps speed cap, which is pretty common for cheaper plans these days.
