What is Holy Motors with Eva Mendes about?
Holy Motors follows Monsieur Oscar, played by Lavant, as he travels around Paris in a white stretch limousine over the course of a day. He appears to work as an actor, transforming into different characters for a series of unusual assignments in several locations around Paris over the course of a day.
Under the guidance of his driver, Céline, Oscar attends nine mysterious “appointments,” adopting personas ranging from a beggar and an assassin to a troubled father and a feral creature. Yet the purpose of these performances, and the identity of their intended audience, remain unclear.
Mendes makes a striking, dialogue-free cameo as a high-fashion supermodel named Kay M. During a photo shoot inside a Parisian cemetery, she is abruptly kidnapped by Oscar’s most chaotic persona: the subterranean, flower-eating goblin known as Monsieur Merde. He takes her to his underground hideout and alters her dress to create a veil covering her head and shoulders.
