Dua Lipa is thriving this weekend in London in more ways than one. While her husband, actor Callum Turner, is reportedly among the finalists screen-testing for the next James Bond, the singer has been spending her weekend in the company of literary greats—and wearing some standout fashion looks along the way.
On Saturday, October 24, Lipa hosted conversations with acclaimed novelist Zadie Smith and poet-musician Mustafa at the Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival. The appearances are a natural extension of her work with Service95, the cultural platform she founded, which includes a book club and regular conversations with authors. Her relationship with Turner has a literary connection, too: The pair bonded when they discovered they were reading the same novel, Hernán Díaz’s Trust, after meeting in 2024.
For her conversation with Smith, Lipa discussed the author’s celebrated 2000 debut, White Teeth, which explores multiculturalism and identity. Smith also spoke about how growing inequality and the decline of public services have made cultural divisions feel increasingly existential.
To host the talk, Lipa wore a bright red knit Chanel dress from the brand’s fall 2026 collection with sculptural red earrings. Her towering, lace-up black leather knee-high boots by Le Silla anchored the look, adding edge to an otherwise reserved outfit—and fuel to a trend that’s due for a comeback.
Later, for her conversation with Mustafa about his 2025 poetry collection, Nour, Lipa changed into a black Prada tank top and pencil skirt. That look was all about the details, including her visible bright pink bra straps, sheer stockings with an embroidered floral detail, and a statement shoe—in this case, feather-trimmed white pumps.
Lipa’s literary weekend continues Sunday, when she is scheduled to speak with musician and writer Patti Smith about her memoir, Bread of Angels.
