Anushka Asthana is joining the presenting team at Channel 4 News while continuing her work as the broadcaster’s US Editor in Washington, DC. Alongside her existing responsibilities, she will return to the UK to cover for other presenters when required. The expanded role brings her reporting experience into the channel’s on-air presenting lineup.
Asthana has reported on political affairs in Britain and the United States, covering election campaigns, major developments in government, and conversations with prominent political figures. She also brings her expertise in American politics to TrumpWorld, a weekly podcast she co-hosts with Matt Frei. The programme focuses on Donald Trump’s presidency, using interviews and reporting to examine the people and events shaping his administration.
Reacting to the announcement, Asthana expressed enthusiasm about taking on the additional responsibility and stressed the role of independent journalism. She said, ”I’m really excited to be joining the Channel 4 News presenting team alongside my role as US Editor.”
