Channel 4 has announced the celebrity line-up for a new reality series which will see famous faces chained together 24 hours a day. Celebrity Handcuffed will pair stars from completely different worlds as they attempt to survive being handcuffed to each other around the clock.

The eyebrow-raising pairings include Katie Price and Reform UK politician Suella Braverman, while former footballer Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock will be chained to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Bimini.

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona will be paired with Made in Chelsea‘s Mark-Francis Vandelli, while socialite Lady Victoria Hervey will be joined by Love Island star and women’s rights campaigner Georgia Harrison.

Rounding out the line-up are DJ Fat Tony and aristocrat Princess Olga Romanov.

The four-part series follows the success of the civilian version, Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing, which has also been renewed for a second series.

The social experiment, which was declared “the best thing since Pot Noodles” by Oasis’ Liam Gallagher, sees people with opposing opinions, beliefs, lifestyles and habits forced to spend 24 hours a day handcuffed together.

Channel 4 says the first episode of the original series attracted more than two million streams and proved particularly popular with younger viewers.

The opening episode achieved a 24.3% share among 16 to 34-year-olds, which the broadcaster says was 140% higher than the usual average for the slot.

Like its civilian counterpart, the celebrity spin-off will put its unlikely pairings under pressure while exploring whether people from very different backgrounds can overcome their differences and find common ground.

Jonathan Ross, who will return after serving as host on the civilian series, has teased that viewers can expect plenty of drama when the celebrities are put to the test.

“I loved being part of the civilian series of Handcuffed, and I can’t wait to see how the celebrity version pans out,” he said.

“I’ve done my fair share of celebrity shows, but nothing quite like this. It’s chaotic, it’s hilarious, and I’m so excited for viewers to see what happens when you handcuff a group of famous faces together and put them under pressure.

“It could of course be a disaster. But it could also be the best thing on TV next year!”

Channel 4 commissioning editor Tim Hancock added that the spin-off would “supercharge” the original format with its unexpected celebrity combinations.

He promised the series would be “laugh-out-loud funny, gloriously awkward and full of surprises”, while also exploring whether people who seemingly disagree on everything can find common ground.

Series producer Amy Willetts added that viewers should “expect fireworks” from those who struggle with the unusual living arrangement.
