Quick Read

  • FuelCell Energy is up 58% year to date while Plug Power is down 30%, with both holding flat today, confirming the selloff is Bloom-specific.

A record quarter and a third guidance raise this year are clashing with negative cash flow at Bloom Energy (NYSE:BE), and that strain is impacting the price. Bloom Energy stock is down 4% to $208.74 in morning trading. Still, Bloom Energy shares remain up 140% year to date despite the drop.

Meanwhile, FuelCell Energy (NASDAQ:FCEL) stock is unchanged at $11.58, holding steady while shares of its larger fuel cell rival slip. Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) stock is practically unchanged at $1.38, matching the calm in FuelCell stock against the drop in Bloom Energy stock.

The Global X Hydrogen ETF (NASDAQ:HYDR) is unchanged at $36.39, leaving the hydrogen and fuel cell group flat as a whole. Broader trading is softer, with the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) down 0.4% to $761.23, a far smaller dip than the slide in Bloom Energy stock.

Negative Cash Flow Overshadows a Record Quarter

Bloom Energy reported record Q3 2026 results after the previous session’s close, with sales of $1.24 billion topping a $1.07 billion consensus. Deployments for large data center and AI infrastructure customers drove product revenue up 179.4% year over year (we profiled seven suppliers riding the same AI data-center expansion, from power to cooling, in a free report here).

Profit followed suit, as non-GAAP earnings per share (EPS) of $0.94 cleared expectations. Management lifted its full-year outlook for the third time.
