This week, Apple kicks off Indie Games Week by adding seven familiar titles into the App Store including Sifu, Vampire Crawlers, and No Man’s Sky.

It’s a great retrospect to see how far technology has taken us. With games like No Man’s Sky hard-launching roughly a decade ago on PC, it’s amazing to see how this game can now run on both the iPhone and iPad.
According to the developers at Hello Games, getting No Man’s Sky up and running on the iPhone took roughly three years of work. They said that the mobile player is vastly different from the PC player and onboarding an open world exploration game on mobile needed a rework of the user interface. They also acknowledge that these long and immersive games may not be everyone’s cup of tea, which is why they are introducing a try-before-you-buy model, allowing anyone on the App Store free access to the game for a limited trial period before they choose to buy.
No Man’s Sky will make its debut on both iPad and iPhone this October 28 2026.

That being said, other popular indie titles are also being introduced such as Sifu, Little Kitty Big City, kingdom builder 9 Kings, Dome Keeper, and the beloved Vampire Crawlers, from the studio that brought us Vampire Survivors. According to the developers, Vampire Crawlers is the perfect mobile game for quick runs and ‘Turbo Turns’ getting your dopamine fix while on the go.
