A 26-year-old Flipkart delivery agent has been arrested by the Bhavnagar Local Crime Branch (LCB) in Gujarat for allegedly stealing customer parcels containing mobile phones and other goods worth Rs 4.60 lakh. The theft is believed to have taken place around 15 days before his arrest, police said on Saturday.

The accused, Rutvik Makwana, also known as Koli, was arrested on October 23 after police received information about a man allegedly selling mobile phones and other items without bills or ownership documents on a public road near the embankment of Gangajaliya Lake on Motibaug Road in Bhavnagar.

During interrogation, Makwana allegedly admitted to working as a delivery agent for Flipkart in Surat and stealing parcels approximately 15 days earlier.

According to police, he would collect delivery bags containing mobile phones and other expensive items meant for customers but allegedly misappropriate the parcels instead of delivering them or returning them to the company before absconding.

The accused, identified as a labourer, resides in Raj Mandir Paan Wala lane near Hussaini Chowk in Akhlol Jakatnaka, Bhavnagar. He was handed over to Gangajaliya police station for further legal proceedings and investigation.
