Off Campus star Belmont Cameli recently spoke about working on an upcoming Sleepy Hollow adaptation with Sydney Sweeney. A few days ago, Sony Pictures cast Cameli and Sweeney as the leads. The project, titled Hollow, is reportedly based on a novel by Lindsey Anderson Beer, which will be released soon.
Belmont Cameli previews his role opposite Sydney Sweeney in Hollow
Actor Belmont Cameli recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how he feels about working with Sydney Sweeney for the upcoming Sleepy Hollow adaptation.
Cameli seemed excited to get started soon and told the outlet he thinks the project will be fun for genre fans. Talking about the project, he said, “It’s heavily thematic and stylized. It’s a period piece.” He further shared his views on teaming up with the Anyone but You actress and stated, “Sydney’s a fantastic actress, and I’m just really excited to be a part of this team. LuckyChap is producing, big fan of stuff they’ve done.”
Cameli referred to the horse-riding he will get to do in the film and added, “Yeah, I’m excited to dive into the world and ride a horse. It’s gonna be sweet.”
According to a report by Deadline, Sweeney is set to play the role of Katrina Van Tassel, while Cameli will portray Brom Bones. The film is expected to be out in theaters in 2027. Lindsey Anderson Beer will write and direct the film.
Sweeney has been in the news recently because of her ad campaign for the betting platform Novig. The campaign has sparked backlash and debate surrounding its heavily sexualized content, including from Sweeney’s Euphoria co-star Sharon Stone. At Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles, Stone said, “I think that it’s up to her to take responsibility for her actions, not up to me to judge her for her actions,” adding that, “We can’t denigrate women’s sports to get men’s attention so they can gamble.”
