A new promo for Avengers: Doomsday has dropped three cryptic words that seem to link the movie’s heroic factions. Doomsday will see the Avengers, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four unite on the big screen for the first time. Each word in the promo connects to one team, highlighting how they first came together.
The three words in the promo are “Assemble”, “Unite”, and “Family”. The first is stylized with the Avengers symbol forming the A, the second has the X-Men logo punctuate the word at the end, and the third has the “4” from Fantastic Four styled as the A.
While we know the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men will unite to fight Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, the new promo gives each team a distinct vibe. Additional footage from Avengers: Endgame: Encore also gives fans a glimpse into the teams’ mindset as they head into Doomsday.
New footage from Encore shows the TVA watching multiple universes collapse, with Earth-10005 and Earth-1127 fighting. Earth-10005 is the designation of the Fox version of the X-Men. This suggests that the X-Men might have faced at least one incursion before they encountered the Fantastic Four and the Avengers. Trailers have already shown the Avengers and Fantastic Four working together in some capacity.
Merch has revealed that Doom might have Franklin Richards in his possession, as he was seen playing with him at the end of Fantastic Four: First Step. Given this information, the three cryptic words likely reveal each faction’s motivation.
The Fantastic Four are likely looking to rescue Franklin, or keep him away from Doom. The Avengers are assembling to respond to yet another threat: an incursion or a multiverse-hopping Doom who is kidnapping power heroes like the Hulk. The X-Men might be fighting to keep their universe alive, making sacrifices the Avengers and the Fantastic Four haven’t considered yet.
