Newcastle United continues to monitor young talents as the club navigates the planning phase for future transfer windows, with Matthias Jaissle’s squad increasingly built around players who can develop while already contributing at Premier League level.
4-4-2’s Ekrem Konur reported that Newcastle is among several major clubs monitoring 19-year-old Brighton striker Charalampos Kostoulas.
“According to information from 4-4-2.ch, four top Premier League clubs are keeping an eye on the young striker: Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United have Kostoulas on their radar,” Konur wrote.
Kostoulas moved from Olympiacos to Brighton for €35 million last summer and made 21 Premier League appearances during his first season, scoring twice. His role has expanded this campaign significantly. The Greece international has produced four goals and three assists across eight competitive appearances, including a goal and an assist in Brighton’s 3-0 victory over Arsenal before the international break.
Konur reported that Kostoulas has attracted attention because of the qualities expected from a modern No. 9, particularly his physical strength, movement and powerful finishing.
Any Newcastle move, however, would require a substantial investment. Kostoulas is under contract to Brighton through July 2030, leaving the club under no pressure to sell. No concrete transfer negotiations are reportedly underway for a January move, and Brighton views the teenager as an important part of its long-term plans.
The Seagulls are already believed to value Kostoulas at approximately €60 million to €70 million (£52 million to £61 million), potentially almost doubling the fee paid to Olympiacos after little more than a year.
