A forex trader from Shamakhokho in Vihiga County, identified as Mishuzi, has challenged claims that there are no successful foreign exchange traders from the Luhya community, declaring himself one of the flashiest traders in the Mumias area.
In a TikTok video shared on Saturday, November 7, 2026, Mishuzi, who goes by the name Shamakhokho FX Trader, addressed people who had questioned whether individuals from Navakholo and Mumias were making money from forex trading.
He specifically mentioned a person identified as Malcom, saying he wanted him to see that Luhyas were also succeeding in the highly competitive trading industry.
Mishuzi presented himself as proof that traders from the region could also build wealth through forex trading, confidently describing himself as the flashiest trader in Mumias.
“I have seen many people, including Malcom, saying there are no forex traders from Navakholo or Mumias. Now here I am. I am the flashiest forex trader in Mumias, and I want to tag Malcom, who made those statements, so that he can see that I am a Luhya and I am thriving in trading,” he said.
He then turned his attention to the laptop he was using, presenting it as another indication of his supposed wealth and explaining that it had an unusual opening mechanism.
According to him, the device was different from ordinary laptops because its screen could not simply be lifted in the usual way. He explained that a button had to be pressed before the screen could be opened.
“As you can see, even the laptop I use for trading is not your usual one because it has a unique way of opening. You have to press a button first before you can flip it open,” he said.

Mishuzi also spoke about the lifestyle he claimed to enjoy from his trading activities, saying he could comfortably sip juice while monitoring the markets.
He further boasted about having several vehicles at his disposal, referring to them as his whips as he attempted to demonstrate the kind of lifestyle he associated with successful forex traders.
“You see, I am very wealthy. I can sip juice as I trade, and I have many whips that I use to move around,” he said.
However, the video showed an electric bicycle parked nearby rather than the fleet of cars commonly displayed in flashy forex trading videos.
Mishuzi imitates flashy forex traders
Mishuzi’s video appeared to borrow from the style of content frequently shared by Kenyan forex traders who use social media to display their lifestyles, including expensive cars, electronic gadgets, money and other symbols of wealth.
One of the traders associated with this kind of online presentation is Kenyan Prince, whose flashy videos have helped popularise the image of forex traders living luxurious lifestyles.
In his own video, Mishuzi attempted to recreate that presentation while showing his trading equipment and speaking confidently about his financial success.
The setting, however, offered a striking contrast to the luxurious homes and expensive vehicles often featured in such videos. Mishuzi recorded himself around a modest mud-walled house, while the phones and laptop visible in the footage appeared to be older models.
