Clayface Shocked at Box Office, Loses No. 1 Spot in Sluggish Halloween Weekend

Warner Bros.’ Clayface entered its second weekend expecting to dominate the box office this Halloween, but A24’s documentary outpaced it. The DC spinoff settled for second place as theaters weathered one of 2026’s weakest weekends.

Katie Holmes doc beats Clayface in latest weekend box office

Clayface collected an estimated $10.4M from 3,478 theaters over the Friday-to-Sunday stretch (via Deadline). You Can See Everything grossed $10.6M, a roughly $200K edge that denied the Batman villain spinoff the top spot.

Saturday belonged to the former, which pulled $4.275M on Halloween against the doc’s $3.58M. Sunday reversed the order: the DC title dropped to about $2.8M while the latter held at $3.45M (via Box Office Mojo).

The superhero pic’s box office tally slid 57% from its $33.7M opening week. Its domestic cume hit $44M after ten days, while international grosses of $38.9M lifted the worldwide number to $83M. Clayface remains No. 1 globally, since You Can See Everything has only launched in Turkey at 120 locations, with Australia and New Zealand set for November 12 and the UK for November 20.

However, the Katie Holmes and Nathan Fielder documentary expanded by 588 locations and crossed $63.8M domestically in its third week, easing 43%. A24 celebrated passing the half-billion mark year-to-date, its best. The studio’s film has already surpassed several notable documentaries, including Bowling for Columbine and An Inconvenient Truth.

All releases combined for about $62.2M, down 38% from last weekend and the third-lowest weekend of 2026. Only January 23-25 ($54.7M) and February 6-8 ($61.9M) finished lower. Halloween falling on a Saturday kept moviegoers home, though Clayface still drew strong PostTrak exits of 68% definite recommend, 4½ stars and an 85% positive score, with men making up 63% of the audience.

Further down the chart, Laika’s Wildwood took third with $7.49M, Black Bear’s Wicker added $4.1M, and Street Fighter rounded out the top five at $3.2M. Netflix’s limited launch of The Mosquito Bowl managed just $455K from 349 sites. The box office fight resumes with Monday’s actuals.
