What we know about The Mummy: Book of the Dead so far
The Mummy: Book of the Dead is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, and written by David Coggeshall. The upcoming film serves as a direct sequel to the 1999 blockbuster The Mummy and the 2001 follow-up The Mummy Returns. While the plot details of The Mummy 4 remain under wraps, the film will reportedly ignore the events of the 2008 installment, Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Brendan Fraser reprises his role as Rick O’Connell, while Rachel Weisz returns as Evelyn “Evy” Carnahan-O’Connell. The returning cast also includes John Hannah as Jonathan Carnahan, Arnold Vosloo as Imhotep, Oded Fehr as Ardeth Bay, and Kevin J. O’Connor as Beni Gabor.
The Mummy 4 has also welcomed new cast members. Obsession star Michael Johnston has joined the cast in an undisclosed role. He recently debunked fan theories that he is playing Rick and Evelyn’s adult son in the project. Instead, he will reportedly play a new character created for the film.
Also appearing in the movie are Egyptian actress and model Tara Emad and Spider-Man: Far From Home actor Numan Acar.
The Mummy: Book of the Dead arrives in theaters on October 15, 2027.
